PortRail Group is the new name in UK bulk material handling and logistics, following the acquisition of rail freight specialists RFS Works Ltd by JST Ports & Logistics last year.
The new PortRail brand brings together the expertise of two established industry leaders – JST and RFS – and the merged business handles over 15 million tonnes of essential commodities like aggregates, biomass, timber and steel every year.
Backed by the combined expertise of a 200-strong workforce, several advanced technologies, and the largest and most diverse machinery fleet in the sector, PortRail delivers innovative, carbon-efficient solutions for port operators, rail freight companies and bulk materials producers in the UK and Ireland.
The expanded firm enables operators to switch between ships, trains and trucks at more than 200 loading points around the UK and Ireland, optimising freight paths and minimising road haulage – that makes PortRail the top provider of multimodal material handling solutions in the country.
Richard Jennings, CEO of PortRail Group, said: “Following our acquisition of RFS Works, our new name brings JST and RFS together under one brand. PortRail Group is an integrated bulk logistics powerhouse with the proven capacity to deliver value with every multimodal bulk material handling challenge.
“This marks the beginning of a bold new chapter, enabling us to combine decades of expertise in innovative handling and logistics solutions to support sustainable economic growth. At the same time, our new PortRail Group name is straightforward, easy to understand and easy to say!”
The business has already begun adopting the new PortRail Group name across its fleet. The new logo features a ‘roundel’ of six chevrons representing the movement of materials and the tracks made by mobile machinery, combining the striking orange from the existing JST brand with a teal that blends the blue and green of the former RFS brand.
