S.H. Bell Company, a trusted name in cargo handling, warehousing, and logistics for more than 90 years, has announced the promotion of Adam Bell to President. Adam succeeds his father, John Bell, who has served in the role for decades and will now transition into a senior advisory position.
Founded in 1933, S.H. Bell provides terminal handling, storage, processing, packaging, and recordkeeping services for customers in the metals, minerals, and semi-finished industrial materials sectors. With locations in the Ohio River Valley, Chicago, and Baltimore our commitment to quality, reliability, and integrity has made us a trusted warehousing and terminal partner in the industry.
Since joining the Company in 2008, Adam Bell has held several leadership roles, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and most recently, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Adam brings a mix of operational and commercial expertise, with a strategic vision to lead the company into its next chapter. John Bell, who has served as President of S.H. Bell for more than four decades, shared his thoughts on the transition: “It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to lead the company my family founded in 1933. Today, I am proud to congratulate my son, Adam, as he takes on the role of President. He has earned this through years of dedication, strategic thinking, and genuine commitment to our team. I have full confidence in his ability to lead the Company forward, and I will support him every step of the way.”
In accepting the new role, Adam Bell expressed both gratitude and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. “It’s an incredible honour to step into this role and lead S.H. Bell as we carry forward what my family started. I’m truly grateful to my father for his mentorship and leadership, and I’m excited to build on our legacy of service, integrity, and innovation. With fresh energy and a deep respect for our past, I look forward to working with our talented team to forge new paths, deliver even more value to our customers, and keep S.H. Bell strong as steel for generations to come.”
Reflecting on the progress since the acquisition, Todd Fuller of the management group stated, “Since acquiring S.H. Bell in 2024, we’ve been proud to witness the strength of its leadership and the alignment of our values. John Bell has built a company with a deep commitment to its customers and people. We’re incredibly grateful for his years of leadership and vision, which have helped S.H. Bell maintain its identity while embracing new opportunities. With Adam Bell stepping in as President, we are excited about the future. Adam has already demonstrated strong leadership and a clear vision for continued growth and excellence.
