Torvald Klaveness has announced the decision to consolidate all digital services under Klaveness Digital – marking the launch of a new strategic direction for the company focused on creating smarter, more efficient digital solutions for the maritime industry.
With new Managing Director, Ingrid Kylstad, at the helm, Klaveness Digital will serve as an innovation engine for developing new, future-fit technologies. Klaveness has a long-standing legacy of innovation and collaboration, with a deeply embedded culture that continues to shape its approach to business. By leveraging group-wide strengths, Klaveness Digital will take the lead in driving the innovation process forward — focused on relentless testing, learning and advancing solutions that contribute to improving the nature of shipping.
In parallel, Klaveness Digital will continue to further advance and commercialize already established products within the Klaveness Group. These include CargoValue — the leading supply chain management tool for companies transporting raw materials by sea — and the freight decision support software, designed for shipping professionals by shipping professionals, from Klaveness Dry Bulk.
"We are pleased that Ingrid has accepted this opportunity at this crucial stage of our growth. With a deep understanding of maritime digitalization and leadership, and more than 4 years in Klaveness on top of an exciting career, she is well-positioned to drive innovation and strengthen our commitment to delivering next-generation solutions for the industry. We look forward to seeing her leadership drive meaningful progress," said Torvald Klaveness CEO Ernst Meyer.
"It’s a very exciting time for the shipping industry as digital transformation accelerates, and I feel privileged to be taking on this role at such a pivotal moment. Technology is reshaping the way we work in shipping and across maritime supply chains, and I look forward to leading the Klaveness Digital team in driving innovation and delivering more sustainable, scalable solutions for our customers," added Kylstad. "Thankfully we have a customer base of forward-leaning companies, always ready to challenge and work with us, and that customer-centricity will continue to be key as we innovate for the next generation of our product portfolio.”
By bringing all digital services under Klaveness Digital, the Group is also solidifying its position in the growing maritime software market while driving the industry’s digital transformation. This move supports their mission to create resilient, decarbonized and cost-effective supply chains.
In her new role Kylstad succeeds Aleksander Stensby, who successfully led the company through its initial growth and development phase. She previously served as Vice President and Head of Market Manager and Strategy in Klaveness Dry Bulk, where she played a key role in developing digital solutions for freight decision-making.
Klaveness Combination Carriers actively participates in the transition to low-carbon shipping with its unique combination carrier concept. Klaveness Dry Bulk is a leading operator servicing the global dry bulk industry and manages the world’s largest Panamax pool. Klaveness Digital is responsible for the development and commercialization of digital services across all business units, including CargoValue, the world’s leading platform for managing seaborne supply chains, and our portfolio of freight decision support software. It also serves as a hub for innovation to test, validate and commercialize new ideas.
