Rusal a preferred supplier to Hyundai Sungwoo

RUSAL, a leading global aluminium producer, is pleased to announce that Hyundai Sungwoo Holdings Co, Ltd. has chosen RUSAL as its preferred long-term sustainable supplier of primary foundry aluminium alloys.

Hyundai Sungwoo Holdings, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea is one of the largest automotive and auto parts company, and is the number one global partner to Hyundai Motors Group (Hyundai, Kia). Such co-operation with the company displays RUSAL’s expertise to supply high-quality foundry alloys for car wheels manufacturing.

RUSAL produces and supplies foundry aluminium alloys for automotive industry worldwide, with a particular focus on East Asia as one of the world’s major powerhouse for automotive and auto parts manufacturers. The partnership with Hyundai Sungwoo as a preferred long-term supplier strengthens RUSAL’s leading position in the region, with an opportunity to boost sales in China.

Both companies prioritize sustainable development processes, implementation of international standards and best production practices in their operations. RUSAL is a leading company in the global aluminium industry, producing metal with a low carbon footprint. The Company's aluminium is produced from renewable electricity, and by implementing innovative and energy-saving technologies, RUSAL is able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at all production stages. Aluminium alloy wheels have become a significant part of the recent trend to reduce car weight whilst remaining robust, improving fuel efficiency, which results in noticeably reduced CO2 emissions throughout car life cycle.    

RUSAL smelters produce a wide range of primary foundry alloys in accordance with the highest world standards and customer specifications. Primary foundry alloys are produced by the Boguchansk, Irkutsk, Khakas, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk and Sayanogorsk aluminium smelters. These products are applied across many industries such as the automotive industry and is used to manufacture wheels, automotive components, engines and body parts and also in the construction industry to produce elements of structures and roofs.
