OrbitMI, a leading provider of maritime SaaS software, has announced that Istanbul-based Statu Shipping has deployed its compliance solutions across its fleet of 20 bulk carriers. Rather than handling compliance as a passive, post-voyage process, Statu Shipping can now monitor and manage compliance outcomes in real time, optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring regulatory adherence throughout the voyage.
By using Orbit’s compliance capabilities, Statu Shipping can simulate voyages to assess their impact on the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), estimate the number of EU Allowances (EUAs) required under the Emissions Trading System (ETS), and forecast FuelEU costs. Operators can configure real-time alerts on deviations in speed, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and fuel consumption, enabling early intervention to optimize fuel use and lower emissions.
“With regulatory requirements becoming more complex, we needed a compliance solution that goes beyond simple reporting,” said Ercüment Ahmet Solakar?, Managing Director at Statu Shipping. “Orbit allows us to actively manage compliance and emissions throughout a voyage, ensuring we meet regulatory standards while optimizing fleet efficiency.”
“Compliance shouldn’t be a burden—it should be a competitive advantage,” said Ali Riaz, CEO of OrbitMI. “By equipping Statu Shipping with real-time compliance intelligence, OrbitMI enables them to anticipate regulatory challenges, reduce emissions-related costs, and make proactive, data-driven decisions that improve operational performance.”
To further enhance compliance automation, Orbit integrates with Bureau Veritas’ VeriSTAR Green platform. This integration streamlines the final auditing of emissions reports before submission to regulators, reducing administrative workload and ensuring accuracy. Automating this process not only saves time but also minimizes the risk of non-compliance, giving Statu Shipping confidence in the accuracy and reliability of their reporting.
“Statu Shipping is a prime example of a forward-thinking operator that understands the value of using data not just for compliance, but for driving smarter operations,” added Riaz. “By embracing automation and predictive insights, they are setting a new standard for efficiency in emissions management.”
Statu Shipping, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, was founded in 1997 by industry experts with extensive experience in ship owning, chartering, and ship management. Specializing in bulk and steel cargo, the company is dedicated to delivering world-class shipping solutions while adapting to shifting market conditions, regulations, and technological advancements.
