NORDEN have announced that they have expanded their fleet with the purchase of four dry cargo Handysize vessels.
Founded in 1871, NORDEN is one of Denmark’s oldest internationally operating shipping companies, with 18 offices across six continents.
The four acquired vessels were built in 2024 and are scheduled for delivery during Q2 2026. The open-hatch and box hold capabilities make them particularly suited for specialised cargoes, supporting NORDEN’s ability to serve customers with more flexible and tailored solutions.
The addition builds on NORDEN’s operated fleet of around 450 vessels and supports the company’s strategy of selectively strengthening its fleet in segments with strong customer demand and attractive long-term fundamentals.
The Handysize segment benefits from an ageing global fleet and a limited orderbook, reinforcing demand for modern, fuel-efficient vessels.
On the back of additional vessel sales and a stronger tanker market, NORDEN recently upgraded their 2026 full-year net profit guidance to USD 70 – 140 million (previously USD 30 – 100 million).
