Digital equipment provider for vessels Hoppe Marine has integrated its flow meters and MAIHAK shaft power meters with Smart Ship Hub’s digital platform, improving vessel and voyage performance, machinery condition monitoring, predictive diagnostics and compliances with classification agencies with the accuracy of high frequency data.
Smart Ship Hub (SSH), the Singapore-headquartered company, is renowned for its exhaustive digital platform and expertise of using high-frequency sensor data for driving comprehensive features across a range of services. The platform provides machinery condition monitoring, AI machine learning (ML) based predictive diagnostics of hull and machinery, fuel performance, and voyage performance efficiencies all under one single, easy-to-use digital platform for ship owners, operators, charterers, and marine insurers.
Through the partnership Hoppe Marine, based in Germany, achieved significant cost savings as well as PMP CBM notation (Digitally managed Preventive Maintenance) and off late statement of compliance from the class in record time.. The impact of the SSH platform across the fleet is being realised across various operational processes, in particular saving personnel 25% of their time in admin tasks, such as report generation and filing.
Joy Basu, CEO of Smart Ship Hub said: “SSH’s digital platform, along with its advisory services, paves the way for the vessel owners, operators and charterers in having their digitalisation roadmap for the next decade. Owners, operators, charterers and now ship insurers can integrate their applications with SSH to achieve data standardisation and secure a deep foundation for intelligent data that can be used across the organisation. Sensor based high frequency data and data from legacy systems together reside in Smart Ship Hub’s digital platform to enable green transition, operational efficiencies, cost savings, and compliance with classification agencies . Hoppe’s years of global experience and market presence together with Smart Ship Hub’s digital platform is accelerating the digital transformation process by bringing in a “single source of truth.”
The collaboration between Hoppe Marine and SSH will continue to work towards wider integration and cross leverage each other’s competencies across the fleet both sides serve. Hoppe’s suite of devices, control systems and sensors are already integrated with Smart Ship Hub’s ready-to-deploy digital platform with its complete range of digital services. The seamless data collection, collation, and data quality management is enabling high quality of data that allows edge intelligence as well as remote management capabilities. The SSH platform now has a range of machinery data and video feeds from its proprietary solution as well as image recognition, all of which goes into providing an integrated experience for shore as well as for the vessel.
Hoppe Marine and SSH are also leading the market by making these digital services customisable as per customers internal preferences and roadmap. This includes complete advisory and predictability in areas including decarbonisation, fuel performance, hull performance, vessel performance, machinery condition as well as a range of performance diagnostics which is available through a proprietary platform. Vessel owners, operators, charterers can pay a fraction of expensive licensing fees with multiple third- party vendors for data analytics, data visualisation, and reports through the one platform. In addition it has also received prestigious recognition from a leading classification agency.
“Hoppe and SSH's strategic partnership is key to our mutual growth and is redefining the way digital transformation is happening across maritime companies. As sustainability, technology innovation and efficiencies become central to ship owners, operators and charterers, digitalisation is the way forward. We found Smart Ship Hub’s deep engineering capabilities and its platform’s features providing a sweet spot for the customers who are looking for an easy-to-use, quick deploy and compliant digital platform. “Outcome driven approach” is very important and we are glad to be able to showcase these joint capabilities together with Smart Ship Hub," said Wilfred Rachan, Managing Director, Hoppe Singapore.
