Demand for rare earths, minerals and metals is increasing globally to provide raw materials for a range of essential industries including mobile phones, electric cars and electronic components for computers.
This growth has attracted investors from around the world to focus on opportunities in the mining sector, which is complex and often with risk, but also with potential high returns.
Global Strategic Commodities (GSC) was formed to connect investors, operators and off-takers in the mining, logistics, oil and gas, renewables aligning capital with strategic objectives, risk tolerance, and operational realities.
As multiple public and private stakeholders are involved in multinational partnerships, GSC builds strategic collaboration, ensuring all stakeholders are positioned to achieve mutual goals. The company has already successfully attracted customers for the mining sector, due to GSC’s extensive due diligence and data gathering.
“Before we even meet our clients to discuss an investment project, we are armed with data at a granular level, assessing risk, geology, logistics, local and national laws and regulations, as well as expected returns on the investment.
Operating across both emerging markets and mature economies, GSC combines deep local knowledge with global insight. By bridging the gap between capital and opportunity, the company ensures that projects across sectors are structured to thrive sustainably and profitably.
“Each project we work on with investors has unique aspects and challenges, and we are drawing on decades of experience in mining investment and logistics, working in challenging environments for long periods to bring projects to fruition, said James Lumley, Director for GSC.
With over 30 years of experience in the global resource sector, including a decade focused on Africa, James Lumley has led multiple mining operations, including TerraCom Resources’ Guinea projects and Cape Lithium in South Africa.
He possesses extensive expertise in capital raising and in building strategic relationships with Pan-African investors and governments. James has also collaborated with the UK Government on African development initiatives and co-presented at the Mining Indaba in Cape Town.
The senior management team is led by Captain Pappu Sastry, who has decades of experience in the mining logistics sector, his expertise covers Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. He has established and led shipping and mining logistics companies across the world. Captain Sastry is also an advisory board member for a number of leading global mining companies.
